From everything I've looked up, I see that there are a couple different kinds of tackle used for fly fishing, Line Backing, Line, leader, tippet, and i think that's it. For line backing, do you fill your entire spool with backing? half of the spool? would you put half backing/half line? and how strong should each be, for example, should the backing be stronger then the line, vice-versa, or should they just be the same? And finally, what are good backing/line brands? sorry for asking so many questions, I just really want to start fly fishing, to do something a little different from traditional spin tackle fishing.

OTK socks with school uniform - is that trashy?

I go to a school where the uniform skirt is short and its been freezing lately so I've been wearing otk socks (alternating black and white) There is nothing to prohibit that in the dress code. My friend is obsessed with a stereotype that otk/ thigh high socks are trashy (or worse evoke innuendo of prostitution - I know, charming!) However my arguments are (1) It's freezing (2) The're just functional, ribbed socks and are the right color for the uniform (We're not talking anything racey) (3) They cover more flesh that the uniform the way most girls wear it (4) Guys increasingly wear their socks otk playing soccer (are they s?) (5) They help redeem an a drab uniform (6) They're one of very few ways to customize the uniform that is allowed. So is my friend right or is her notion judgmental and antiquated?

I've been feeling really nauseous and overly tired lately. I've been sleeping almost constantly the past few days. Anyone have severe pelvic pain ?

Ok I'm 38 weeks pregnant. Every once in a while I will have this very sharp ( feels like I'm being sliced with a knife to better explain it ) pain down by the front of my pelvis area. kinda feels like its my cervix cause its right up in there. Can these pains be compared to contractions ? Cause if so I don't think I can handle that lol. I have a very high pain tolerance ( covered in tattoos ) but holy crap it stops me in my tracks and I have to wait it out. They arn't contractions and he hasn't dropped and I've had them for about the last 2 months more frequent now though, now what the heck is it? After previously buying a used Pokemon Emerald game from Ebay that had turned out to be a bootleg of some sort... I decided to go to Gamestop and buy a used Emerald game from there. This one looks authentic (other than the sticker on the cartridge not being holographic), but every time I turn on the game it says something like "corrupted save data, the previous saved game will be loaded". My wife's main goal in life is to be a SAHM. It's never been one of my ambitions to have a SAHWife but she's been very insistent about the benefits to our children so I've reluctantly agreed. She's been a SAHM off-and-on for awhile now. She'll occasionally get a temporary job to help make ends meet. But when she goes back to being a full-time SAHM, that's when the pampering begins. She sleeps in every morning and she doesn't get much done throughout the day. I thought the goal was to take care of our kids, but her main priority seems to be taking care of herself. I wake up at 5:30 every morning, drag myself out of bed, get ready for work while watching her snooze, and then go out in the cold to go to work. Meanwhile she wakes up around 9:00, casually fixes her breakfast, takes it easy for awhile, then gets our son up and plays with him. Her day seems to consist of playing with our son and maybe one chore. We usually go for days without the dishes being done. And I'm often the one to fix dinner for everyone after I get home. Meanwhile our son doesn't know how to relate to other kids his age. And he doesn't seem to be benefiting THAT much from having his mom home all day. I guess I'm just having trouble seeing how this is benefiting anyone but my wife. Am I being suckered? I'm not enjoying living like paupers and shopping at Goodwill just so that my wife can pamper herself. Am I the only husband who feels this way? Someone help me to understand the benefits of having a SAHM. Thanks!

Excerpt from my novel? i like brutally honest criticism :)?

It's hard to write first person without using the words 'I', 'me' etc. too much. Look at ways you can write a sentence removing those. You change point of view so you'll want to look at that, too. You're writing first person meaning you are only inside that character's head. So she can't know that he's aggravated and about to give up. You could rewrite that so that he drops her, leaves, comes back, sighs heavily, that kind of body language that shows the aggravation. The description of the guy at the beginning is a bit much because she's in a stressful situation. Some guy comes crashing along being chased, and you're going to spend moments dissecting his looks? Not realistic. What would work stronger is if you worked his description in a bit at a time, within narrative and dialog as the story progresses. You could give a tiny bit of description, but keep in mind a scene like this is supposed to be tense and scary. You accomplish that by writing action and dialog, not setting, description, and long parts of narrative. Your opening line is a bit odd, unless it follows something we haven't read here. Why is she holding back a smile and biting her lip? It has nothing to do with what follows. Those are a few comments that hopefully help. Good luck with your story.

Buying a 2000 Silverado? help?

Well I am getting a first car soon and I have been looking at a 2000 Silverado Ext. Cab 4x2 5.3L V8, um.... it has a bed liner and toolbox and tube step bars. anyway um i've heard that these trucks are lemons!?!? My impatiens looks terrible!!! and it has happened very quickly....there have not been any blooms for a long time and now there is hardly any foliage. The only foliage there is, is at the tops of the stems...the middle and lower parts of the stems are completely bare! It basically looks like a pot full of small green palm trees since the foliage is all on the tops. I picked up the pot and noticed lots of tiny black bugs. Anytime someone calls Loveline and says they're trying to quit pot or something way worse, Dr. Drew always responds that he or she will absolutely have to get themselves into a 12 step program AND get a sponsor. He adamantly states that quitting on your own will not work. And the ones that have already enrolled get chastised for not having a sponsor. Says it's just a matter of time before relapse. Here's my opinion about this...I dont think either one of you should be focusing on kids and marrige just yet until you start to get going in your career. What it takes to be a marrine?

So i really look up to millitary personel and what they do for our country and how honorable they are and i really want to be one of them one day. But if i join i want to be the best and being the best to me means being a marine. I'm pregnant with twins. I'm having a scheduled c-section really soon. I've got a lot of things going on in my life, and feeding or pumping milk, is the last thing on my mind. I don't think it's selfish. I think that you've got to do what best for mom & baby. Breast feeding & pumping breast milk are not going to be possible for me. I once attended a boys scouts camp-out for our son. They held this wonderful ceremony, where a group of us parents stood around in a circle holding a candle. Then the scoutmaster lit his own candle and walked over to our circle to light my candle. I then lit the candle of the person next to me, and he did the same, and so on. Before you knew it, there was this huge circle of light in the middle of the desert. I learned that you just need one person to trigger the beginning of light, this quest for knowledge, as it were, but ultimately for that knowledge to start working, there has to be some divine intervention in this somewhere. I do believe that our collective thought process is a basic requirement, which feeds on this illumination. Like darkness seeking light. I have had many such "masters" in my life who triggered this process for me, taught and illuminated my path, and still continue to do so. In our son's boy scouts program we called these people our, "Akila."

i had an appendectomy dec. 4th, no complication was released 3 days after surgery. about a week later i was back in the ER with trouble breathing, and chest pain did a chest x-ray and blood work said it was pneumonia sent me home with an antibiotic. they said they were not concerned with a clot due to the fact that i received 2 blood thinner shots so they didn't even check. now tomorrow is my last day on antibiotics and im still running a low grade fever also my abdomen has started to hurt and my back as well, also im still very nauseated and vomiting. like i ate dinner and within 5 mins i vomited half my dinner up *i know tmi * i dont know what to do ? im not going back to that incompetent ER they dont know there head from there es. i cant get into see my surgeon till dec. 20th... what can i do until then ?

Home Improvement Loan?

My husband and I own a home that we bought for $26500. It was completely gutted. My husband completely fixed it up, but it still needs alot of cosmetic work -new drywall, trim, paint, some carpeting. We want to re-finance but it is in no shape for an appraiser to come out and look at it. We re-financed it last year, and it was appraised at $55,000. Our loan on it now is $35,000. We don't know anything about rehab loans or home improvement loans, so we don't know where to begin. Doesn't the home have to be appraised again? Our upstairs is opened up, it was an attic, and we don't have any drywall up. It is basically an attic with a stairway access. Could this be a problem in getting the loan? I am a guy in my mid-teens, about 5'4 or 5" and 115 pounds. I was in a cooking cl and talking to a clmate about how much I love cheeses, such as the brown Norwegian goat cheese and the common pepper jack cheddar cheese. I told her that I would be rail thin if it weren't for cheese, and that all my chub was from cheese. she then proceeded to tell me that I must be kidding because I am rail thin. This got me thinking because I usually have a very small breakfast, no lunch, and a moderate dinner with small snacks in between. I get a decent amount of exercise. whenever I look in a mirror all I see is a chubby porky version of myself. i had 2 robos originaly. grumpy bear used to beat up his brother, piper, when they were younger and ended up stunting piper's growth. he had a huge scab on his rear end one morning so i seperated them. bacause of this piper died at only 7 months old. piper was very lovable and i don't know why grumpy is so mean. i'm trying to find a way to calm grumpy down so i can just love him like i loved his brother. he has lots of space, including 3 cages that r connected, and they hold multiple beds, hideouts and toys, including 3 wheels, which he never used before his brother died. i gave him piper's old wheel and now he seems to love it although he doesn't run nearly as much as piper did. he has plenty of space to run around and is never in the same place when i look for him. he's very territorial and hates it when i go in there to clean up or feed him, he tends to scream. once in a blue moon i can call his name and he'll come to the edge of the cage and talk to me. that's the only time i get to see him. i aways tell him how much i love him and would love to hold him. but i don't want to scare him or make him mad. i really do love my little grumpy hamster, no matter how mean he is to me. i don't know what to do.

you can go to epicourious.com.it is very good for almost any recipe. use the coconut milk not the heavy cream.i am figuring off the top of my head. i am a chef. i think your can of coconut milk is about 12 ounces or so. take a regular frying pan about a 10 or 12 inch one. put only the curry powder in the pan. about 2 or three tablespoons in it.you want to cook it for about 2 minutes over med heat to release the flavor. stir it while doing this.be careful, if heat is to high it will burn. put on the side in a dish.put a little cooking oil in the pan,about 2 ounces.let it get a little hot about 30 seconds. add about 2 teaspoons of garlic. cook mixing it with a spoon. let the edges of the garlic get a little golden color. you will see it start to get a light color to it. at that point, put half of the curry powder in.put about 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar in it. mix it around about 10 seconds.add your coconut milk. bring it to a boil then reduce it to a low simmer. as it reduces it will thicken slightly.taste.if you like you can add some corriander about half a teaspoon and red pepper powder to taste.if you like you can add about a teaspoon of tomato paste. it will change the color and taste.it is also good tasting.when it gets to the consistancey you like, taste it. see if it needs more curry or not. do the same with the sugar. it should have a sweet taste to it.optional is the chicken broth.also when doing this recipe, if it gets to dry or the garlic seems to be burning you can add a little of the broth, it will keep the garlic from burning. at end adjust the salt, pepper taste. you want sort of a sweet/ hot taste.

Here in CA you can buy a solar PV system, it's connected to the power company with a bi-directional meter, it's sized so that you get your power from the power company at night and bad weather, and they buy your excess power when your family is at work and school. NO BATTERIES unless you want back-up power from the grid. Most don't have batteries. Then there is CSP, those giant trough-like concentrated solar power plants in the desert. I square mile of CSP could power the country. Sure we'd have to update the grid. The biggest resistance is coming from the Nuclear and Petroleum industries. They want you to think those are better options. Nuclear is a dead end game, we don't need it and it's too dangerous. There is a 30% Federal tax rebate -- NOT A SUBSIDY -- no more than any other allowable deduction is a subsidy. The power company in many states like CA, NJ, NY and 21 States will also pay a big portion of your initial cost? Why? They get to buy the excess power from your roof cheaper and locally. It's win/win. If we manufactured here, and people bought the systems like they do cars, the market would drive the industry. Solar, Wind, Hydo, Tidal these are the future of energy and they are renewable. Oil is half gone refered to as "Paek Oil" they will squeeze every dime of profit before it's gone. Would be better to see to it petroleum lasts longer. Corn ethanol is a loser but switch gr ethanol is a winer, made from weeds. Why is corn ethanol pushed instead? The corn industry. It's corporatism driving what is really best into the ground with misinformation and propaganda to head off the emergence of Renewable Energy which is the best way to go. Solar PV on your roof is distributed solar (not a huge power plant) depending on where you live and your local power rates the payback can be 8 years, warranted for 25 years, that's 17 years of free power. The current energy industry is dead set against US buying into that reality, hence all the misinformation. I know a family who has solar and wind turbines. The turbines work great in winter and the solar work great in summer, they sell excess power to the power company and get power when the solar and wind systems are not at their best. Have you ever had problems with the RCBS hand priming tool?

I have used mine loading large rifle and large rifle magnum primers without any problems. I tried using it tonight for large magnum primers for my .44 Rem. mag. for the first time, and the primers just didn't want to go into the primer pocket. They were CCI primers, and I have 3 or 4 different brands of cases, didn't make any difference which on I tried to prime. All of the cases where decapped before I put them through the tumbler. The only thing I could do to get the primers to go in was to put a slight bit of pressure on the primer and the case then rotate the case untill I could feel the primer align itself. I checked to make sure I had the large seater installed, which I did.

These people are clueless, don't listen to them. Do the research yourself. Alcohol is much more harmful than both of these substances. LSD is considered a very safe drug, as well as marijuana. I'm surprised by your withdrawal symptoms but won't deny them. As a college student I use marijuana some nights because it keeps me sane when when I have to study for long hours -- I use it as a treat for hard work. Hallucinogens have been found to change peoples behavior for the better, but possibly for the worse. I can't see either substance causing more harm than if you were to drink once a month. Good luck and do some research.

Should I Prepare for Volleyball Camp?

It depends on how intense the camp is. My daughter just finished the Baylor University college prep camp, and it was very intense. They worked for 9 hours on day 1, 12 hours on day 2, and 7 hours on day 3. She could hardly walk when she got home, and she is in top physical condition. If it is just like a high school camp, I doubt that it will be that intense. You should just wear shorts, and a t-shirt, and good tennis shoes. You will also need to get a pair of knee pads. As far as eating, can't help much there. My daughter is very fit, and eats plain ol teenager food, Pizza and chips. I would be prepared for some good hard work outs never the less

You could file a complaint and have him denied a fireworks permit next year. Then if he had them he could be arrested for that. I was looking at the underside shell of my tortoise, she is a 50 year old Greek Spur-Thigh. The rear two plates on the bottom of her shell, inbetween her hind legs, althoughhard and rigid themselves, the join between them and the rest of her underbelly seems to be flexible so that the joint bends is the plates are pressed.
