Buying a 2000 Silverado? help?

Well I am getting a first car soon and I have been looking at a 2000 Silverado Ext. Cab 4x2 5.3L V8, um.... it has a bed liner and toolbox and tube step bars. anyway um i've heard that these trucks are lemons!?!? The only things that seem to be wrong with it is that it has skid-dish starts(engine starting), The fuel gauge say E when there is fuel in it and then it goes back to normal, and The oil gauge shakes when sitting at a stop light. Can you tell me if any of these are serious problems? Oh and the truck has 163,587 Miles. Thanks for the answers!!!!!!! :)
