Girls please help me out here! tampon quick question..10 points first answer!! PLZ HELP!!?

Ok, so I just now learned to insert a tampon, cuz i'm in sports and hafta use them...and ok it hurts a little bit when I sit and run..I just got my very first one in ever tonite. i don't have my period yet tho lol just practicing. ok so uhmm is it normal to just hurt a little when ur a first time user and u just put it in?? ...my sister said it's probly just swelling a little, and putting them in there more often will help my body get used to it. ok so help?? 10 points first answer, too!
